Norwegian Band Collaborates With GENE SIMMONS, Releases KISS Cover As A Single
February 29, 2004SHIRLEYS TEMPLE's version of "God of Thunder" will be the first single from the upcoming KISS Army Norway tribute album, tentatively due late 2004/early 2005. The single will be released on April 20 — the same day that KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons' much-anticipated second solo album is expected to drop.
According to KISS Army Norway, SHIRLEYS TEMPLE's vocalist/guitarist Frank Tostrup was the songwriter for he song "Asshole", which Gene ended up recording for his solo album of the same name. SHIRLEYS TEMPLE are Gene's backing band on the song as well. "Now [that] Gene has done a cover of SHIRLEYS TEMPLE it's kind of cool that SHIRLEYS TEMPLE cover a KISS song too," reads a press release from KISS Army Norway. "The admiration goes both ways."
The KISS Army Norway tribute album is expected to include contributions from some of Norway's biggest artists. No further details are available at this time.
